Description:  In the workplace there are LOTs of questions about noise:  Is this TOO loud?  How often do we need to test?  When can noise cause a injury?  What can we do to manage noise at work?  How do start to comply with OSHA?  This presentation will address those questions and more!

Hearing conservation programs strive to prevent initial occupational hearing loss, preserve and protect remaining hearing, and equip workers with the knowledge and hearing protection devices necessary to safeguard themselves.

This presentation will provide guidance on how to’s: including:

  • Determining the Need and Measuring noise levels, and
  • Providing and Interpreting annual hearing exams, and
  • Use and Maintenance of hearing protection devices, and
  • Managing risk and Reducing occupational injuries associated with noise.

Our presentation will include valuable information form OSHA Publication 3074, 29 CFR 1910.95 and recent industry trends associated with hearing conservation.

About Our Speaker:  Bill is a Field Associate and Certified Industrial Hygienist with OECS, starting with the company in 2019.  He brings almost 30 years of Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene and Safety experience including: Risk management and program compliance, occupational and environmental hazard analysis & control and development and staff instruction of specialized operational and compliance training.  Bill has a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering and is certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.
