Description:
This course is designed for individuals who work around electrical systems but are not qualified electrical workers. Participants will learn the fundamental principles of electrical safety, including hazard recognition, safe work practices, and the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE). The session covers essential topics such as avoiding common electrical hazards, understanding safety signage, and responding to electrical emergencies. Through interactive discussions and practical examples, this training aims to equip non-qualified personnel with the knowledge and awareness needed to maintain a safe work environment around electrical systems.
Learning Outcomes: Attendees will be able to:
· Describe the hazards of electricity.
· Identify and avoid common electrical hazards.
· Understand how to follow safe work practices.
About Our Speakers:
Steve is a Field Safety Associate specializing in construction for the Dakotas Region. He earned a BS from Minnesota State University, Moorhead. After 26 years, he retired from the Fire Department. He also served for 20 years in the ND Army National Guard. He and his wife, Tracie, live in South Fargo. He has 8 adult children and 2 hound dogs. In his free time, Steve enjoys hunting, shooting, building furniture and working on his 1935 Chevy truck.
