Description:  This session will discuss what Stretch and Flex (S&F) is and why we do this in Wanzek and many other companies.  We will review the benefits of S&F, supervisor expectations and involvement and the importance of ensuring we start each day with this exercise.  In addition, we will review some research and findings of stretch and flex programs.

The 4 primary objectives of this course are:

1. Understand what Stretch and Flex is and purpose

2. Benefits of Stretch and Flex

3. Supervisors role in the process

4. Evaluate research conclusions on Stretch and Flex

About Our Speaker: 

Tim has been in the business of helping people for 29 years, 23 in the safety business.  Tim served in the U.S. Navy 6 Years as a Navy Corpsman specializing in Emergency Medicine before leaving and starting his career in the safety profession. 

Tim spent 16 years working with ExxonMobil and Aera Energy (Exxon/Shell joint venture) in Southern California in both onshore and offshore production facilities.  Tim was the Director, Environmental, Health and Safety for TIC Holdings Inc. overseeing over 120 safety professionals in 14 production units and companies across the US and Canada.  Tim joined Wanzek in June of 2011 as the Environmental Health and Safety Director and has expanded his role in the company to include Training and Quality as well.  Tim’s maintains an office in Fargo and his home in Steamboat Springs Colorado.

Tim is a Certified Safety Professional, Occupational Safety and Health Technologist, Construction Safety and Health Technician, Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of California.  Tim is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.  He is the Secretary\Treasurer of the National Construction Safety Executives, a premier construction safety organization and he has a degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University.

This event has been approved as a Continuing Education (CE) credit by the Midwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety and the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and provided by OECS.
