June - NRASP Membership Luncheon - Medical Marijuana and Your Workplace Drug Testing Policy by Dr. Joel Blanchard

Description:  Marijuana presents distinctive challenges for employers who need to provide a safe workplace.  Marijuana's mixed composition and diverse means of use makes it difficult to create and enforce drug policies that also take into account conflicting regulations and legislation from the state and federal governments.

About Our Speaker: Dr. Blanchard is the Enterprise Medical Director of Sanford Occupational Medicine Clinic in Bemidji, East Grand Forks MN, Bismarck, Dickinson, Fargo ND and Sioux Falls SD.  As Medical Director, he oversees the medical care, policies and procedures of the clinics.

Dr. Blanchard is a board-certified family medicine doctor at Sanford Health.  He completed his Medical degree at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and his internship at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon.  Dr. Blanchard is also a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.  He is certified as a medical review officer for drug testing and is a member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
